Hi,

This 1cm animal was under a pebble in shallow water, ca .5m deep. Is it an ascidian? Any ideas please? Thank you.

The water was not clear at all and this is the best photo I have. There were several of these tunicates under a pebble in shallow water near the shore.

L'eau n'était pas claire du tout et c'est la meilleure photo que j'ai. Il y avait plusieurs de ces tuniciers sous un caillou en eau peu profonde près du rivage.

I found this on a gravel seabed at about 2m depth. It looked like a shell covered with algae. It was moving at the rate a mollusc does. The photos show the animal and its tracks in the sand. Is it possible to identify from these photos? Thank you very much.

I noticed several larger Chromis chromis gojng round in circles on shallow rocky bottoms, surrounded by smaller individuals two weeks ago (25 June). What behaviour is this please?

Hi,

I came across this fish and just caught it swimming in unclear water about 3m below me. I chased it for a photo as I didn't know what it was. The photo quality is not good but I noticed the stripe along the body continues onto the bottom part of the tail, which is typical of Upenues porgi. Also, faintly, you can see three stripes on the top part of the tail. If it is U. porgi, it is a first record for Malta of this Lessepsian species.

Could anyone identify this animal for me please? It is a worm and I found it under a stone in water 0.5m deep very close to the shore. It was about 7-8cm long but it started shrinking. When I took the photo it was about one third of its size.

We found this crab swimming in open water close to shore, at about 0.5m depth. The body (acarpace) was about 2cm wide. Can anyone identify it please? Thank you!

J'ai retrouvé cet animal lorsque je transportais des photos d'une algue. C'est une très mauvaise photo car elle était au bord et hors de portée.
C'était 4mm de longeur, ou peut-être même moins. Pourrait-il être un ver plat s'il vous plaît? Thank you and excuse my French!

J'ai trouvé une éponge que je n'arrive pas a identifier. Elle était dans une profondeur d'un metre, largeur de 5cm et consistence molle. Merci pour toute l'aide apportée a l'identification.

I found this film of gelatine with these tiny circles on a vertical rock face, about 10cm wide, about 1m below the surface. Are they eggs? Has anyone seen them please?

I came across these Hermodice carunculata on a rock face in the shade, about 1.2m from the surface. They seemed to be eating something gelatinous. Is it an animal? Does anyone know what it is please? Thank you.
