Hi,

I am not sure whther this is a Common Stingray Dasyatis pastinaca or the Tortonese's stingray Dasyatis tortonesei. I have other photos apart from this if need be.

Thanks. I have a video of it where I think it is searching for food in the sand. It was amazing to watch. I believe that its distribution is not well documented or at least that is what I read in P Louisy's Book Europe and Mediterranean Marine Fish Identification Guide .

The angle of this picture is noto good for a sure identification. It looks more like D. tortonesei but if you don't have other photos in my opinion it can be only Dasyatis sp.
